Yeditepe Veterinary Clinic
At Uslu Architects, we designed the 365 m² Yenitepe Veterinary Clinic in Fikirtepe, Istanbul, to bring together the technical requirements of veterinary care with a warm and inviting spatial experience. As an interior architecture firm, we aimed to move away from the sterile and distant atmosphere often associated with traditional clinics, creating a functional environment with a strong identity where both animals and their owners can feel at ease. Throughout the design, soft and fluid forms extend from the ceiling and glass partitions to built-in furniture and waiting areas, creating a cohesive spatial language. We balanced burgundy and blue tones with light-colored surfaces, combining materials such as metal, glass, and wood to establish a harmonious relationship between the clinic’s technical character and its welcoming atmosphere. Exposed mechanical systems and metal details further reinforce the contemporary and dynamic character of the space. To separate the clinic’s various functions while maintaining spatial continuity, we incorporated transparent, curved glass partitions. This approach allows natural light to flow throughout the interior while creating visual connections between different areas and encouraging more fluid circulation. We considered the reception, waiting, and product display areas as integral parts of the arrival experience, while integrating the examination and workspaces, along with their technical requirements, into the overall design language. From an interior architect’s perspective, we approached aesthetic decisions not merely as visual elements, but as design tools that enhance spatial functionality and the overall user experience. At Yenitepe Veterinary Clinic, we combined the functionality required of a professional healthcare environment with a user-oriented and approachable spatial concept. Through a design language shaped by color, material, transparency, and organic forms, we created a contemporary, comfortable, and reassuring environment for animals, their owners, and the clinic staff, while reflecting the clinic’s distinctive identity.
