Akdeniz House

In this duplex residential project located in Erenköy with a total area of 185 m² including the attic, we redefined the tranquility of contemporary architecture through rich material dialogues and sculptural details. Our core design approach was to marry the sophisticated serenity felt from the very first step into the space with craft-oriented, custom-crafted details, creating an inviting, breathable, and living home in every square meter. The natural veined travertine flooring chosen for the entrance axis seamlessly integrates with the warm wooden surfaces wrapping the staircase mass and hidden storage volumes, creating a fluid welcoming scenario. Advancing toward the living room, herringbone solid parquet takes over the flooring, elevating the warmth of the space. Meanwhile, a veined marble TV unit rising like a sculptural pedestal, paired with softly curved lacquered panels and a root veneer backdrop, forms a balanced focal point. At the heart of the living space, a solid dining table with a root walnut pattern, accompanied by custom-designed curved chairs, adds a dynamic, balanced, and elegant depth to our interior decoration philosophy. In the master bedroom, we envisioned a refined personal sanctuary centered on serenity and privacy. A textured custom wallpaper in the backdrop, a vertical-stitched headboard, and smoked glass dressing units together yield a deep, warm, and balanced atmosphere. The attic on the upper level, curated through the touch of an experienced interior designer, was transformed into an independent lounge and relaxation zone that detaches from the main pace of life to foster leisurely and tranquil moments. In the kitchenette designed to make the most of the roof slope, we achieved compact elegance using a green-veined natural stone countertop, vertical tamboured doors, and concealed lighting. By pairing our custom built-in and loose furniture with collection pieces bearing the Uslu Design Studio signature, we captured a distinguished design language in every corner. As Uslu Architects, an Istanbul-based interior design studio, we completed this project where functionality seamlessly meets the most refined form of luxury as a timeless living experience that conveys the perfect harmony of architectural proportions and material richness.
