Taycı Family
We approached this 265 m² duplex apartment located in Bostancı by placing the Taycı Family’s lifestyle and the time they spend together at the core of the design. Our aim was not only to achieve an aesthetically refined home, but also to create a timeless design language that would remain relevant over the years and evolve alongside the family. We began by completely reworking the existing layout and redesigning all room configurations from the ground up. While shaping the interior, we organized the floors according to the family’s daily rhythm. The lower floor was planned as the main living area for hosting guests and for the parents’ everyday use. By separating the area following the staircase with a door, we created a hotel suite like zone for the parents, including a walk in closet, an en suite bathroom, and a bedroom. The upper floor was designed as a more flexible, dynamic, and personal living space for the two boys. This approach allowed us to create distinct atmospheres on each level while maintaining a holistic and balanced spatial composition. Throughout the design process, we combined warm lacquered finishes, natural wood textures, and refined color transitions. While aiming for an elegant yet inviting atmosphere, we shaped the space with bespoke furniture designed specifically for the apartment. Spaces that appear simple at first glance reveal layered details, custom applications, and specially produced solutions upon closer inspection. In addition to iconic and original pieces from various brands, the project features selected designs from the Disco House collection by our design studio, Uslu Design Studio, presented at Salone del Mobile. As Uslu Architects, we realized this home through a personalized and holistic design approach that reflects the interior architectural vision of our founder, Interior Architect Alp Usluduran, resulting in a boutique living space designed to grow with the family over time.
